Take a new MidPenRideShare survey and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a $250 VISA gift card.

The 25-question survey that asks about your commuting habits takes just a few minutes to complete, and your responses are valuable. The Middle Peninsula has the highest commuter rate in the state, meaning many people live here but work outside of the region. Survey responses will help the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission better understand how to best grow the MidPenRideShare program, which brings more commuting options to the region.

Find the survey here. After completing the survey, participants will have the option to be entered into a drawing for the gift card.

The MidPenRideShare tool encourages car and vanpooling, biking, and public transit as commuting options and supporting teleworking, a greener option with fewer cars on the road. Once commuters register for the free MidPenRideShare program, they can access a statewide database that connects them to other drivers who share a similar commute.

Once registered for the MidPenRideShare program, members can download the app and log on each time they telecommute, use a bike share service, take mass transit or car or vanpool with others. Rewards in the form of restaurant and retail options are available as appreciation for choosing to go green.

MidPenRideShare offers a Guaranteed Ride Home Program, which ensures carpoolers never get left behind.

Middle Peninsula Rideshare Commuter Services are provided by the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission’s Transportation Demand Management Program in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation.

MidPenRideShare is a free service operated by the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission for residents, workers, commuters, and tourists in Virginia’s Middle peninsula (Counties of Essex, Gloucester, King and Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex and the towns of Tappahannock, Urbanna, and West Point).
The Commission has partnered with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and their Virginia-wide ConnectingVA program to provide free ridematching to find carpools, vanpools, and all forms of public transportation, trip planning, and information on park-and-ride lots, bike share services, electric vehicle charging stations, and rewards.
