Are you thinking about asking your boss if you can start teleworking, and even more so, wondering if you are cut out for it?

Thanks to Telework!VA and its resources, we’ve compiled a list of traits of a successful teleworker.

If you are any of these, consider asking your boss (we have some tips and tricks for doing that here) if you can set up a telework program.

-Self-motivated and requires little supervision

-A history of successful performance evaluations

-Known to be dependable

-Works well in isolation

-Well organized with a track record of good time management

-Has a good set up at home that includes privacy and few distractions

-Results-oriented

-Views teleworking as an alternative to the traditional work environment

-Understands computer software and hardware

-Shares mutual trust with colleagues and supervisors

-Understands that teleworking is not a substitute for child care or caring for an aging loved one

Are you already teleworking? Have you signed up to earn points and rewards for tracking your telecommute days? Be sure to do so here.
